During the colder months, it can be tempting to hide under layers of cosy woolly scarves, comfy knits and beanies and camouflage dull winter skin under layers of foundation and concealer.
For many of us, colder temperatures tend to wreak havoc on our skin. With the slightest wind our lips become chapped, skin turns dry and patchy and the lack of sunshine and vitamin D means that our complexion can take on that dull, lifeless look.
Not all hope is lost however. With a few tips and tricks, you can keep your skin looking its best all-winter long.
Change up your skincare routine
As the weather changes, so should our skincare routine. Colder months require us to use different products that we would in the summer – with more moisturising and nourishing properties. Exfoliating becomes even more important during winter months, as our skin tends to get more dry and flaky. It can be really tempting to hide behind layers of warm clothing, sleep in a little longer and let your gym membership lapse in the winter months. After all, the mornings are cold, it gets dark earlier and generally it seems to be that much harder to get motivated to get out of bed, yet alone do any exercise.
